I'll be sailing on the 1600hrs high water on the monday. What ports/harbours are most suitable for arriving at night and will allow me to catch up with the group on Monday/Tuesday

Hi,

I would say Conwy is not good for night arrival - there are some sharp bends in the channel and the marina lights can be very confusing till you know what to expect when you have been in before

Best bet might be Beaumaris, but you would be picking up a mooring in the dark.

Or, if it is calm , possibly anchor opposite Beaumaris on the other side of the channel, but you would dry out.

Port Penryhn is a bit too commercial for yachts and dries out.

Hi, have a look at the North West Venturers Yacht Club website at
http://www.nwvyc.org.uk they have a lot of information about anchoring around Anglesey plus tide rate diagrams etc. have a good trip looks like you will have a lot of wind .
