Hi John, It was a brilliant weekend (for once), wasn't it? Pity we weren't there for the actual ceremony but at least we've seen it courtesy of your video-nice one. Thanks for running the race, it does add that bit extra to the trip. Let us know if there is another in two weeks, John(Lopud) said he might try and organise a BBQ then.
Cheers, Brian (Triagos)

One of the best days this year, I should say, never seen so many people on the Island.
-
I heard the trumpets and the cheers from the moorings at 2 o'clock.-
-
There will be some great photos out there somewhere, I only took pictures on my phone, I think we should get them all together and enjoy them together during winter on a big screen projector or similar.
-
I shall put a few on a web album tonight.

Totally intensional David. I thought the JCB would be very busy on Sat & Sunday so I went on Friday night to Sunderland ,thanks to Jeff & John ( and his son) for help launching in pitch black & rain & likewise stopped at Sunderland on the way back. Went in the dock just infront of Silver River on Sun night then hauled out this morning with the help of Alex & Dennis. Raining again but at least it was light. Thanks Guys.
Excellent weekend & I've got 167 snaps & movie clips so I'll put the best together asap.
By the way, my anchorage at Sunderland is now nearly all flat again.
A bit of confusion going in the dock last night, I called them and kept getting answered, or so I thought, as Laura, the wind was blowing me all around so couldn't stay inside on the radio too long, then the Silver River cocked his approach up and started to back out, Justin said thought he was going to Snatchems for a pint, or trying to run down the moored boats over the other side, the light was green so I shot infront of him. Later on another boat crept by me while I was mooring up and it was the elusive Laura. It was them the dock was answering to and they had no nav lights. I hadn't seen them at all but we must have been near each other at sometime out there.

Thanks to the GSC

We, Little Hog Crew, had a great time. The racing was fun when we were close in the Lune but a little disheartening when you all shot off accross the bay but we could not grumble the wind was about perfect for us with an occasional splash

Piel was the busiest we have ever seen it and the impromptu BBQ was a great idea. We watched what happened with the tide and where e had anchored Little Hog, she floated all the way through low water, no problem I thought.

Sunday morning I had worked out I needed to be of by 07.00hrs, but when I awoke after a good nights sleep, probably alcohol induced, we were firmly beached, the water had gone. I managed to pull little hog free for 07.30hrs, this was to cost me later.

The wind again could have been stronger but it was a reasonable breeze, slow enough to allow us to catch 14 mackeral and throw back the smaller fish. My Youngest was please as punch but I lost my fishing rod?????

Three quarters across the bay my instinct were telling me that I would not make it under sail. A quick check on my position confirmed my alarm bells and the engine was put on. We made back to GSC with an hour to spare when the tide became too strong. We were quickly pulled out by Dave, Thanks.

A great sail and great company, and great to get to know some more members.

Click my email tab above for email, if not working jstoppy@hotmail.com

Most were caught in the Barrow Channel from the leading lights to the light house on a flooding tide.

We are having mackeral for tea for some time.

Speak soon
