One boat nearly sank, another ( in the dock ) developed a very serious leak and had to be hurriedly beached, one of the most expensive sails in the fleet was blown in half, the moorings party failed to find the ground tackle, and this afternoon we launched a boat and its keel fell off.
-
Apart from that, the Vikings were rained off on Saturday and it is going to be put off till the 6th of September, I think.

Give us more info????

We got very wet kayaking at the Yorkshire Championships and they tell me kayaking is a dry sport too, but my youngest came 2nd overall including all ages in Freestyle Comp' good result for the family and worth the commitment.

Shame about the viking raid and on the 6th September I am collecting rubber ducks at the local folk event "Rushbearing" at Sowerby Bridge.

Certainly interested in a keel falling off, how???

We "Little Hog" will be over this weekend planning our second assault on Blackpool Tower on the Saturday, lauch and recover Saturday if you can add it to the tractor board??

Lets hope for fair winds and weather, we are starting to think Morecombe is the windiest place in the UK.

Thanks

I don't want to name names without the owner's permission, but I'm sure Norman won't mind me telling you about his sail which gave way in a gust.
-
The sinking boat was "Trefusis " the old trawler with the sharp edges - they were power washing in the bilges and managed to blast out some of the caulking.
-
The keel dropped off a lifting - keeler after they had launched and were getting ready for sailing next to the jetty. Don't know what happened exactly.
