Corona Virus Precautions

Unread post by onewaygeorge »

I think this needs a thread of it's own.
Our esteemed commodore wrote:
The club and boat park will not be 'off limits'. Just maintain 'social isolation' by staying at least 2m from others and watch the personal hygiene. Be wary of the 'touch points'. Don't congregate.

I guess we'll follow the diktat that the bar will close from tonight.

Until government rules change, which may be just a matter of time, and the diktat moves to house arrest for the general population !
I have a couple of questions and I expect others do as well, as I would like to get on with a bit of work.
1) Are we still allowed to use the kitchen provided we take care, using it one at a time and taking care with cleanliness
2) Now that the bar is closed where can we purchase electric tokens?

Hi George,
1. If you leave the kitchen / club house sparkling and dripping with disinfectant then you shouldn't increase the risk to club members unduly (quite a few of whom will be getting letters this week!!). It's not up to the committee to police. I'm with Mick in thinking that Boris will do that for us shortly.
2. You need to speak to John Holt or Kevin to get tokens. John topped up various meters before 'lock down', so you should be ok for a while. nb coins are vectors for disease.

Stay safe

Seems I wasted my time checking club usage. Not sure that the authorities could get their collective heads round the fact that going from a house that is effectively isolated, by myself in a motor car, and spending time effectively isolated on my boat, is self isolation. And this lovely dry spring weather, great for all sorts of jobs.

George. Quite! Seems the advice / diktat is aimed at city dwellers. Not that it's worked if the tube pictures are anything to go by! They'll be sorree.

Enjoy the sun.

Hi All,
Yes Kevin and Justin have been giving it the once over most days. John Holt cut the grass last week having cycled there for his exercise allowance.

Gilly and Jackie have done the cleaning call.

Mick, you're only a bus ride away. What would you be doing if you lived nearer?
