Please find below the Agenda for the RYA NW Region Annual General Meeting to be held at the Beefeater Norman Jepson, Bluebell Way, Fulwood, Preston PR2 5PZ on Wednesday 6 November starting at 7.30pm together with a copy of the Minutes of the 2018 AGM. We look forward to welcoming members of your clubs to the meeting.

Should anyone wish to eat before the AGM if you order in the restaurant before 18.30, you should be able to get food from the very reasonable day-time menu.

We are actively seeking new members for the committee, if you know any full Personal Members of the RYA who would be interested in joining the committee please do pass on a copy of the attached Nomination Form.

Adam and Chris’s 24-Hour Challenge

Adam McGovern (RYA NW Regional Development Officer) and Chris Robinson sailed non-stop for 24 hours to finish the West Lancashire Yacht Club’s 2019 24 Hour Race in 5th place out of 73 boats and to raise over £2,600.00 for the hospital that saved his daughter’s life. Adam will tell us the story of how this was achieved.

Big Changes at the Royal Yachting Association

The English Regions Forum – A New Voice for RYA Stakeholders
Set up earlier this year as part of the RYA's aim to engage more closely with its stakeholders, the English Regions Forum had its first meeting in September. It will be a regular opportunity for regional volunteers to meet with the most senior RYA staff — and the Chairman Chris Preston — and put the views of Members, Affiliated Clubs, Training Centres and other stakeholders to them. Chaired by a volunteer, we aim to have a frank and transparent exchange of views on any RYA matters and advise the Board accordingly. It demands more of our regional organisation if we are to reflect your interests so please come along to hear more from the Chair of ERF about our plans and have your say.
