Glasson Railway Station
After the excellent quiz on Saturday (thanks to all the organisers), my wife and I rode to Carnforth on the Sunday, in particular the railway station museum, where I spied the below picture of Glasson Railway Station. I wondered if anyone knew where in Glasson the station was and maybe could identify any present members on the platform

There's a pic (see link) here that might make it easier to work out where it was http://myrailwaystation.com/FORMER%20LO ... 57_jpg.htm

Re: Glasson Railway Station
Thanks Val.
It seems to be just past the mini-roundabout on the outskirt of the village.

Re: Glasson Railway Station
It was between the main road and the river opposite School Lane. Site is marked on Open Street Map.

Details , including sidings to the canal basin and onto East Quay, can be seen on various old map on the National Library Of Scotland web site.

Thats a fascinating map from National Library Of Scotland, thanks. There is a building between the station and brows bridge which has disappeared, I wonder what it was and why it got demolished?

Re: Glasson Railway Station
I notice Glasson SC is not on the Open Street Map. I may look into putting us on.
