Easter Cruiser Shakedown

Unread post by Big john »

Despite the poor weather forecast we had 4 boats set sail for Piel and Barrow over the easter weekend, Rice Pudding ( Intrepid Crew Norman, Einar and Staff, 1st To Piel well done :P ) Sea Fox ( Sailing Captain Roger, and Chris :P ) Serendipity ( Andrew, Neil ,Janine :P ), Penny Diamond (Ian and John.) The wind was NW 5 -6 so the bay was resonably calm , A quick nip across Mort Bank saw us all to Piel Isle within 3 Hours or so ,there were plenty moorings spare and later on a visit to the the Ship was on order. Sunday was a bit of a damp squib, but sailing capt Roger lead the way up to Barrow where again there were plenty spare moorings . A meander around the Maritime museum then evening meal in the Ferry boat Inn, followed by a visit to Seaweed Corner, Beer £1.50 per pint and soon we were all having a good old singsong ,many thanks to Chris on the guitar. ( I think Einar took some pics ? ) :P
