Piel Trip this week-end 7/8 May

Unread post by Roger »

Dear All,
I need to get to Piel to pick up Sea Fox this week-end (long story involving a Lifeboat rescue last week-end  ). Rice Pudding is going Saturday, back Sunday and I've reserved a berth - but if anybody is going over on Friday I'd appreciate a lift.

Anybody else interested ?

Regards

Roger

ps Did I mention what extremely nice chaps the RNLI and Paramedics are ?

Lessons learnt:

1. Carry a waterproof radio.
2. Carry flares.
3. Sit in the middle of a lightly loaded tender.
4. Always wear a life jacket and appropriate clothing for the foreseeable weather.
5. A powerful head torch would be useful.

Hi Roger
I'm leaving for Scotland Saturday lunchtime. I won't put into Peil, but hopefully will see you on the river on the way out.

Just seen this but already out,
Note, the merlo is down(no drive again) and the JCB isolater key is missing
Glad to hear the happy ending Roger

The JCB isolator key is kept in the club safe at the moment and was there last Saturday.

Would the JCB be able to launch and recover Triagos on a big tide,Pete? Or is reach still a problem? By the way, the heater nozzle has arrived, are you at the club on Saturday? If you are I'll bring it for you to have a look at.
Cheers Brian

Hi Brian Not sure but I don't think big tides help as you end up higher up the slip where it is not as steep and the JCB only has a relatively short reach. The torpedo on the JCB may do it though.
I am planning being at the club over the weekend.
