Chris would like to thank all those who posted their kind messages and good wishes for her recovery she much appreciates them.
She is now home and touch wood it will be a matter for the normal healing process, 6 to 8 weeks should see her back to some sort of normality.
Their are several versions of what happened to us flying about (excuse the pun). basically we were at the top of a flight of stone steps going into a local church yard when a huge gust of wind hit us. Chris was literally picked off her feet and without touching a step on the way down landed on the paved area at the bottom. This resulted in a smashed hip which needed a full replacement and various other minor injuries. I was very lucky as I was on the handrail side and managed to grab it on the way down and only suffered severe bruising. A local amateur weather station on Longridge fell, which supplies windfinder with data, recorded a gust around that time of the incident at 98mph
She has promised not to try flying again without the aid of wings or a parachute!
Thanks Again for all your comments and kind wishes and we hope to see you soon.
Doug
