To most at Glasson this is nothing special..to me it was like a great sailing adventure...
The seventh day of the seventh month a trip to Piel with Derek (Todd) on his Westerly Nomad 'Rolean'.
A some what grey sky when we departed Glasson only to arrive to clear blue sky and clear blue water.
The sail back was perfect and I will be enjoying viewing the pictures and movies that I took that memorable day.
The only sailing I have done is on Coniston in a lysander and the coincidence is that I used to sail down to Coniston's very own Piel Island for a BBQ..
So hopefully next season when I do break away (with me on board this
time) from the Lune I look forward to all the sailing grounds that are on offer.....once past the learning curve of sea sailing...
Here is just a small snipit of what for me was a that most enjoyable day.

So thanks Derek for a great day out..

hi there i am a new member and i was just looking through the posts and your trip looked fab i hope we have a good weather this year roll on summer
Welcome to the club and I am sure you will enjoy the friendly atmosphere at GSC. As mentioned I am a newbie to sea sailing and this year will really be my first year for sailing, just pottered about last year getting Hina's Moon ready...if that is the correct word as they never seem to be ready....in fact still quite a list of tasks to tick off, but better weather should reduce most.
Lets hope we have another cracking summer, but with just the right winds...hi
We may have met in the club house as I think you may have been after a mooring last week...if you are the chappie Robin Knocks Johnson lookalike...I am the bald white haired short bloke or did I have my wooly hat on...my good points.........ummm!!!!!
Cheers and catch you up there on most Saturdays.
