Porta Potties

Unread post by jstoppy »

Just a thought and question i have for the forum to debate.

I am currently emptying my porta loo in the toilets in the club house as I have been unable to find anywhere else, which I feel uncomfortable doing for obvious reasons, I do make sure that this is clean and hygienic for the next occupant baterial wipes for any splashes etc.

Questions

Is there a sewer trap I could untilise instead?
Would it be worth investing in a porta toilet disposal area etc?

Note; In our environmental times we are moving towards emptying our sewage overboard will no doubt over time be fround upon when not on extended trips and perhaps we should advocate this etc as the human population continues to grow. I am not an environemntalist but I value the wildlife aound us plus being a kayak surfer know the nasties raw sewage can bring.

Look forward to the debate.

Hi John,

Mick Clough is on the case, we are shifting the stuff near the end wall of the clubhouse shortly and either building a sluice or getting a stainless one to fit on the wall.

I think there is a manhole cover you can lift round there for now.

why is this text so big or is it just my comp?

The text is ok on the forum so it must be the computer.

I've used the toilet in the past; it is possible, because of the long outlet pipe, to do it quite hygenically. When the new facility is built will the sluice rinse out the portapotty bowl like hospital ones used to clean the old stainless steel bed pans?

I can't quite believe the 'sluice' will that sophisticated so a water tap with a short hose near the sluice would help to rinse out the portapotty.
