Scrap on the sands

Unread post by hinasmoon »

Derek Todd and myself went out to the moorings on Saturday to replace my mooring chain and what a sight when we got across. The sand was cut back and revealed old chains, fixings and other debris, in fact it looked like a scrap yard. Some protruding poles/angle iron was showing which may be cleared by a bilge keeler but any flat bottom boat would not fair too well if it settled on any of them.
I was testing out a new small camera but had it set a little low but the following edits show part of what we saw.
It did though make it very easy to find the main Trot which was showing in lots of places and was only 4" or so below the sand where my mooring is.
