Using the Dock this Summer

Unread post by davidb »

Anyone wishing to obtain temporary short or medium term berthing within the dock during the season must first check with the Harbour Master, Brian, that there is sufficient space to accommodate them.

Berthing space is now at a premium due to the regular visits of the Ingerborg Pilot, and the need to turn her round inside the dock.

Helen Loxam, Chief Executive said

"Unfortunately there may be occasions when we have to say no to requests for berths. We will do our utmost to accommodate where we can, but would ask for your understanding that the commercial operations of the port are paramount.

In the urgent need to use the the dock where no prior permission has been agreed with the Harbour Master, members should contact the main office on the following number 01524 751724. This line is diverted to the Harbour Master's mobile at weekends and evenings."

You can ring this number any time of day or night, because the mobile is switched off when no-one is on duty.

Remember to call the dock on channel 69 to ask permission to enter from the river, and to observe the traffic lights

It might be advisable for members to programme this number into their mobile phones.
