Hello,

I hope you are fine. My name is Juan Torres, I am a Masters in Marketing student at the University of Birmingham and currently I’m working on my dissertation project which is related to sailing.

As part of the research for my project I have designed a fun to fulfil questionnaire in order to get a better understanding of the sailing activity in the UK. This understanding will be based on finding out motivations, complementary activities, common social trends, etc form people who are involved in sailing.

Looking for people to invite to undertake the questionnaire I found your club on uksail website and I’m wondering if you and the people from your club would like to participate in the survey.

It is really simple, it is an online survey and the only thing you would have to do is to access the link and take a few minutes to complete it. You can access the link to take a look first and then do the questionnaire and pass the link onto you colleagues and friends whether you find it OK.

I will be really appreciated if you can help me as you know as student one doesn’t have the resources to undertake massive and expensive market research initiatives, rather one has to appeal to these types of ways to sort it out.

It looks like all the other market research questionnaires I've ever seen. I gave up when it asked what is your annual income is.

My thoughts were, when I read his introduction, what is this guy doing on a masters course when he can't even string a gramatically correct sentence together.

I thought there was something fishy when I saw the questions. I tried to google his name etc. and there is actually someone at the uni with his name
