When is the regatta
I spent most of my money on Booze, Women and Boats. The rest I wasted.

Hi Mick,
.
Its not on the calendar yet, I think we are looking for volunteers to organise one?
.

In Doug's recent email (can be found under "List of emails sent to registered members" in member's area documents)
.
Dear Members
Due to the logistical problems of cruisers being unable to overnight in the dock and the likelihood of the tractor being out of commission it was felt that it would not be feasible to get the numbers on and off the water on one tide to race. We would still like it to be a fun weekend. Some of the dayboats and dinghy will be able to launch with the telehandlers and cars so if you want to organise a fun sail it would be good. The BBQ will be available for use throughout the weekend and if anyone wishes to organise games (boules tournament is always a good one) please feel free to do so. It would also be great if our talented musicians could step forward and provide some entertainment. If anyone has any other ideas do not hide your light under a bushel and go for it. If you need any equipment or practical help please liase with Val or me.
The Social side has taken a long time to recover after Covid but even during this awful summer some great evenings have been had. So please come along over the Bank Holiday and have some fun.
I look forward to seeing you.
Regards
Doug

Hi Mick
Looks like most of the information is just posted on Facebook now so some of us forum members are mostly left in the dark about what's going on at Glasson!

Yeh, I've basically given up on social media, you end up with load's of crap coming in from all over, half of it (probably more) computer generated , the rest, well 🙈

I suppose it can be handy sometimes Pete, like finding out car problems, just bought a new Kia and it suddenly turns to the left, more or less as if it wants to do a u turn, went on the web and once anyone new the model they all knew the problem.

I'm not keen on Facebook either but look every day and if there is any info on there and not here I'll try and copy it across. There's nothing about the regatta which is a shame. But this ridiculous weather would put paid to sailing anyway.
.
Trouble is there are some useful forums on Facebook which don't appear anywhere else.. I have had some very good advice about the Merlo, also Hik Vision and MailChimp.
.
It can also be dodgy posting on there when you are away cruising or whatever, thieves can tell when your house is likely to be empty.
.
Also it's very difficult to find old posts if you want to look back at stuff. Most confusing.

Thanks Dave.
It's a shame after all the work you put in to the website and sorting out the forum.

Hi all
I to do not use Facebook.
Yes the forum as took a big dive in posting since the Facebook page was opened.
Perhaps we are just old and not interested in people's toilet habits and what they eat for there meals, and all the other false news that comes in.

Ah, but like Dave says, there is some interesting stuff sometimes, I just watched an unboxing video, showed how to carefully remove the cardboard box from a stack of prefolded cardboard boxes. I'm painting some doors tomorrow so I'll put the "watching the paint dry" on YouTube
