Happy New Year Everyone!

We have a very special guest coming to talk to us about a unique local organisation, in February
Bay Search & Rescue (BSAR) is a charitable organisation, based in Flookburgh. Although totally independent from the national emergency services, the BSAR team work with them all, bringing their specialist skills to serve in the unique environment of Morecambe Bay and its surrounding area. They have a superb fleet of vehicles to help them do this, including Hagglunds, specialised Transporters and a range of water craft including a custom-designed Airboat.

BSAR Founding Member, Commanding Officer, cleaner and Head of Maintenance (!), Gary Parsons will tell us all about this wonderful local organisation – how and why it came about - and give us a bit of an insight into just some of the rescues they have been involved in, since their beginnings in 1999.
