This evening ( Sat 11th ) at 8pm we are having a Quiz run by Idris. If you haven't had an email about it yet, please let me know and I'll send you the link.

If you haven't used Zoom successfully before, please get in touch beforehand and we can have a practice session to try and get you set up properly,

.

We will not post the meeting details here for security reasons.

Thanks very much for that Idris, I think we are getting there now with this technology, it's all a matter of practice. Colin has got an account now as well so we are well covered. I'll send an invite for Wednesday 8 p.m. a bit nearer the time. I don't know if we could risk posting details of the meeting on the members area part of this forum?

What do you think ? Cheers David

Was the quiz a success?
Did Jimmy Wales win?
Any chance of posting it online so the unconnected can have a go?

Hi George,

Last night wasn't a quiz, it was just a chat and it went very well. We are still learning, and what I learned last night is that its a good idea to have something ready to show the audience when there is a pause in the conversation. It is fairly easy to do when you realize you don't need to keep sitting there looking at the audience, you can look through the other apps running on you computer using the "Alt + Tab" shortcut:

Doing this does not interrupt the Zoom conversation which will carry on in the background.

Best idea at this point is to close the programs you aren't going to need and get to the page you want on your browser or the picture you want in your photo folder.

Then you go onto "share screen" on Zoom and get back to where you were.

Last night Ann stepped in to share with us some good old pictures of the stilt race they had across the Lune at LW, please could I have some copies of those for the Club photo archives, Ann? Good pictures of Mick and Alec enjoying themselves!

Its all clever stuff and is bound to come in useful in the future, eg. when you do a presentation with a projector.
