Waldringfield has a "mooring post" like Sunderland Point, I wonder what the folklore is about theirs?

Hi Dave, hope you're well.
It is said it was a mooring post for the cotton ships, but like a lot of folklore it needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. I wouldn't Moor Stedfast to that. Also it's too far out of the channel.
If I remember rightly, when he mentioned it on the talk we had, I'm sure it showed a picture of a sailing ship in the river that was probably anchored, with a rope going to the post. I'm guessing it was a grounded tree that came in handy to tie a rope to, to pull yourself through the mud.
I wonder if Sambo is really buried in that field?

Yes, we are all well thanks. We are in semi - isolation due to our extreme old age so daughter is fetching shopping for us and we still have a milkman, thank goodness. I have never felt so old - I wish people would stop rubbing it in!

Yeh, same here, it's embarrassing when neighbours come round to ask if you need anything. Nice though. Although where we live most of the neighbours change that quick you don't really know who they are.
