Just got one for the boat, solders wire OK.
Just like a bloke, I didn't read the instructions, not only have you to slide the switch on, but you have to hold the light button down as well. I was ready to take it back but thought I'd better read the instructions.
3 AA batteries and some solder come with it. All in all a nice bit of kit
