I was talking to a guy who had just joined the NWCC Conwy a few weeks ago . Bob in his early 70s wanted to take up sailing for the first time, and had just bought a Sadler 26 (Kate) which was ashore on the hard at Plymouth. He asked me if it was feasable to sail the boat up to Conwy and if I knew of anybody who would sail it back to Conwy , I said I do. Bob and myself drove down to Plymouth and Kate was launched next morning by forklift and we set sail , although the boat had been stood for a few years she was in quite good nick and we soon got most of her gear working . Rather than just sail her straight up North I told bob we will call in at some of the best places on the way ,which indeed we did. Falmouth, Scilly Illes, St Ives, Padstow, Dale, Fishguard, Aberdaron, Menai Bridge, what a cracking sail and a smashing little boat, Bob is now hooked on sailing.

That's some forklift John. Did you get to the I.O.Man race?

Hi Brian yeh some forklift ,could lift boats up to 6 ton and stack 50 ft high.(Gilly would love one of those) No I missed the IOM race, went off cruising round S Ireland with a few other boats down here for a couple of weeks , were off to Douglas 2nd June for TT, whats your plans for cruising Bri, may see you some where along the way cheers John. Hi John Glad to see you're getting some sailing in, I'm scuppered for now, I've got gout.
On medication so I'm hoping I'll be getting going soon.Probably head down to Wales this year. Cheers Brian

Hi Phil many thanks for that bud .I think its Andy a great Scots man guitarist doing a delivery trip with a Trade wind 35 . Sounds like your having a good trip please let us know where you get to. all the best john .

Yup that's the guy. He said you and he play music together. I'm in Port Ellen on islay still heading for St kilda but very slowly
