We have at least five Mirrors and five Toppers.

Are there five Leisure 17s?

If five boats of an class take part they are eligible for a separate trophy!

The Regatta is fast approaching but we still haven't had any volunteers to help with the boat race managment?

Guess it will all be down to Steve, Ivan, Doug and myself.

It's my understanding that ALL boats will be under the control of the OOD - Princicpal Race Officer. If this is not the case please let me know.

All skippers should report to the OOD before the boats take to the water, i.e to state they are racing, enter the event (no fee), and to understand the course(s).

There will be briefing on Saturday for all skippers, the times will be announced later, obviously earlyish because the cruiser crews will want to be on their boats with plenty of time to get ready - please suggest a time.

Start Sequence

Signal...........Lights..........Sound.........Minutes before starting signal

Warning........Three..........1 sound............5
Preparatory.....Two...........1 sound............4
One-minute..... One..........1 long sound.......1
Starting..........None.........1 sound............0

Following Michael's notes on REGATTA START ON SATURDAY for cruisers intending to RACE.
Please report your entry with the RACE OFFICER, in good time, prior to your planned START.
There will obviously be numerous vessels leaving the dock at the same time, we need to avoid CONFUSION.
GOOD LUCK.

As this is a special weekend I'm planning on starting the races at the published start time. The light/buzzer start sequence will start 5 minutes before the published time.

It's in everyones interest to report to the OOD Box prior to going afloat or before leaving the dock

Thank you everybody for a great Regatta - we enjoyed every bit of it. Loads of effort went into the running of it and the atmosphere was so happy.

looking forward to the pictures, we didn't take our camera, Chris says we already have too many Regatta pictures - that's the last time i listen to her!

cheers, David

Lorna, Vice Commodore, suggests that we make the Regatta a two day event in future so that all the presentations can be done on the Sunday and make the Monday into a fun sailing event.
Any ideas for the fun sailing event?
