Ladies' Evening (aka Wine Tasting)

Unread post by chrisb »

Coming up on Sat 16th Nov at 8pm, we have the opportunity for us girls to get together for a natter, and to share some wine and snacks.
This is how it works.....

Bring a bottle of your favourite wine (or whatever), wrapped in foil, so it is incognito.
Share with others to get their verdict - tell us a bit about it if you like.
Give a donation to the Bar for corkage (10% was suggested by the Bar, but will advise on the night). Glasses will be provided.
Enjoy a good natter and some snacks which will also be provided.

We expect to use the "Snug" with the main Bar being open as usual for general use.

Some of us enjoying a fabulous evening of fun, laughter and food.... and wine, in the sparklingly decorated snug. Thanks AnnJ for the food, and for devising a score sheet, with some wine guidance. We didn't even have time for the quiz which she had done, but enjoyed reading the wine trivia which she had placed in "bottles" on the windows.

And the winner was... (the wine that is, not Linda).

The rest of the line up.
A donation in lieu of corkage was made to the Lifeboat as advised by the Bar. We are all looking forward to next time.

Well done all. I'm a bit envious although I did enjoy a glass of 'Chateuneuf de Pap' this week at a BBQ. The label on the back crowed about how it had been matured for weeks and the aftertaste left a hint of strawberry jam...

What do you mean "Well done"?
"Well done for not emptying all the bottles"? ?
We had an elegant sufficiency.
