Sad loss of a good friend. At least we can console ourselves knowing that he was enjoying his life to the full right to the end.

I didn't know Ian as long as most members but whenever I knew he was at the club I would seek him out to have a chat. One of the nicest people I have ever met. What a sad loss.

We all knew what to expect - but not so soon. Ian although very weak - was unbelievably his usually chirpy self when we had a chat with him last weekend even when he told us that they could do no more for him - but it still comes as a dreadful shock.

What a wonderful person - always so helpful and never had a bad word for anyone. And to sail single-handed as he did as long as humanly possible.

Rest in peace Ian - you will long live in our memory.

Alan and Sue.

Very sad.
Here's a picture of him enjoying himself with some hikers in 1987.

An inspiration ! Great bloke and I'm choked that he found some comradeship with us for so long.
