phone apps

Unread post by dr.syn »

just got a really cheap phone & deal £7.50 a month Carphone WH (Sony Experia E4) Biggish screen for a phone but
Basically wanted it for, apart from a phone, the "chart plotter" from Visitmyharbour, which is successfully loaded and working, but I've also added other free apps which you might find useful.
Saildroid - turns phone into a handheld GPS (haven't tried this one yet but looks like you can use it just like you would a GPS ie add waypoints etc) https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... .saildroid

Uk tides https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... id.uktides works OK

Spirit level https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... piritlevel Works OK

flashlight https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ight.panel works OK

I'm sure there are others out there but these were free and they all work ok

I have also got a spectrum analyser, guitar tuner, etc etc I'm hooked. Anybody else got any "interesting" ones?

Hi Mick
I use "Findship" and "UK Tides" on my phone and for a note pad I think "Fast notepad" is great and dead easy to use, all free in Google playstore.

So seeing as you guys are are in touch with the modern world, are you up for helping demontrate some stuff to an audience, possibly in Feb or March: http://www.glassonsailing.co.uk/phpBB3/ ... f=1&t=2334 ?

Not an app, but this is a brilliant web page, it refreshes every 5 minutes: http://www.gridwatch.templar.co.uk/index.php

I'm game Dave.
Just tried your website, watch it as you switch the kettle on. Drops 3kW. So that's quite accurate
