It is with great sadness I have just heard that after a long battle with cancer Alex has passed away. The strength, fortitude and good humour he showed during his long struggle was a true measure of the man. On behalf of myself and the members of the committee I would like to offer our deep felt condolences to his family and friends.

Throughout his ordeal of pain and suffering, Alex continually adopted a most positive outlook, combined
with his great humour and welcoming smile.
Alex showed exemplary courage and bravery, in addition he was forever a great "team player".
He will be very sadly missed by us all.

We are so sad to hear the news of Alex's death. Although we knew that it was only a matter of time it still somehow comes as a shock. We'll miss him and his dry humour.
