A Wish

Unread post by Michael »

If I could have one wish from the Management Committee it would be to extend the top portion of the apron seawards. I keep meaning to make a proposal but don't seem to get round to it. It just needs to take the apron around 2 metres beyond the water drain outlet and extend only 5 metres towards the river - removes the 'ditch' that seriously impedes launching and recovery. This would seriously help dinghy recover on spring tides, keep dinghies out of the way of cruisers launching and recovering and as most sailing etc. is done on spring tides ...

Perhaps it only needs 2 metres towards the river, just enough to get a boat launching trolley past the water outlet

Hi Michael
Your suggestion is noted and has previously been considered. What you are probably not aware of is that the sea wall at this point is showing signs of heaving and some subsidence is apparent above on the club land . We are currently in talks with our landlord on this and until we get some kind of outcome no works will be taking place in that area.
