Just a quick reminder that there is a meeting on Sunday for the people interested in the junior section this Sunday the first April at 2.00pm

Junior section
As promised an update on the junior section.
The marina have asked for some more work on the risk assessment, this I think should be minor and they have agreed in principle to our using the basin. I am worried, however, about the logistics of getting the boats around to the marina, especially if they say we cannot park the trailers at the marina whilst we are on the water.
Nick has worked out a programme for the first day-Saturday 5th May- attached. This is to make use of the offer of wayfarers and experienced helms to take the youngsters out under supervision. (The wayfarers belong to Giles Stothert, Anne Bourner, and Derek Heath -Many thanks) This will take place on the river. Following this a debrief session will decide the activities for the following days, Sunday and Monday, possibly with the juniors single handing in the marina. We will limit the number of juniors to a maximum of 12 in the wayfarers, on a first come first served basis; PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHICH JUNIORS WANT TO BE INCLUDED ASAP.
Based on this programme, signing in will be at about 2 hours before HW, 11.45am Start times for the following day will be agreed at the debrief.
I assume that parents are aware of the need for suitable clothing/wetsuits and will remember to bring a change of clothes and towel. At the end of this are some recommendations from the last training session in 1990.
I will also need to know which parents can help out with the following ( not all may be needed but, for instance we may need two safety boats) and on which days.
Safety boat
Shore based first aider/bacon butty chef!
Helm/instructor
Loan of dinghy
Please e mail or phone me to let me know.(01524 770055)
Duties may be allocated on the day.
I will update you further nearer the time.
Cheers
Alison

Sat 28th Apl
Hi,
I spoke to Richard on various subjects to-day including
the use of the marina. It was suggested that we can park the
trailers in front of the workshop adjacent to the marina
shop, as the workshop won't be open on a saturday. Car
sharing should be considered. Also I am trying to get a key
for the gate to the slip on the other side of the canal. He
says it's B W's business but he has made inquiries on our
behalf. If anyone would like an introduction to the safety
boat on saturday 28th, the tide is about 10.00. Meet me at
the club 08.30. with sailing gear including life jacket,
boots etc. I can man the safety boat for the sailing
sessions. Anything else please ask!!
Cheers John.
