HAMBLIN ROUND MANN OFFSHORE RACE 2011

Sunday 29th May 2011, (HW 0945 hrs approx.) Start 0800 hrs, Port St Mary.

Starting

(a) Start time: 0800 hrs for both Divisions
(b) Starting signals: Code flags will be flown from the flagpole at the end of Alfred Pier. Warning
signal Code Flag “Numeral 1”
(c) The race will be started using Rule 26.
(d) Starting line:
(i) The Start/Finish line will be between the flagpole on the end of Alfred Pier and Carthure
Perch.
(ii) An Outer Limit Mark (OLM) will be laid towards the Carthure Perch end of the line but
which forms no part of the line. Yachts will at no time before or after starting, while racing
or finishing pass between the OLM and Carthure Perch.
(iii) An Inner Limit Mark (ILM) may be laid towards the Alfred Pier end of the line but which
forms no part of the line. Yachts will not pass between the ILM and Alfred Pier while
starting.
(e) Recalls will be in accordance with Rule 29. Rule 30 will not apply.
7. Course
Round the Isle of Man clockwise leaving the Calf of Man to starboard and the mark in Peel
Bay to port. The Peel Bay mark will be a one-metre diameter yellow spherical buoy positioned
approximately 2 cables NE of the end of the breakwater.
8. Finishing
(a) The Finish line will be between the flagpole on the end of Alfred Pier and Carthure Perch.
(b) Competitors will take their own finishing time although it is anticipated that the RO will be on
station. If finishing in the hours of darkness yachts will identify themselves by shining a light
on their sail number or by some other means. (e.g. VHF Channel 37A)
(c) All entrants will complete Declaration cards (available in the club).
(d) Retirements must be reported as soon as possible to the RO, or phone the IOMYC on 01624
832088 (answerphone).
9. Time Limit
RRS Rule 35 will not apply. The time limit will be twenty-eight (28) hours from the start time.
