Weekend 6th/7th June

Unread post by Michael »

Saturday is another fun day. Paul may have his refurbished West Eleven out for the first time!
High Water 1112 hours 8.5 metres - sailing can start at 1000 hours

Sunday is the Arthur Ingham Trophy Races and Spring 5
High Water 1153 hours 8.5 metres - first race starts at 1045 hours. I will OOD if we can't find anyone else to do it.

It's important that we are all on the water in time for the first race. Recently we've been a little slow and we've been overrunning and clogging up the slipway preventing access for the cruisers. Dinghies and dayboats have precedence on the slipway from one and a half hours before high water to an hour before high water. Please will you all try to launch or be on the apron by an hour before high water.

Rescue Boat volunteers are always welcome.

Force 5 and rain are forecast for Saturday! That more or less rules me out. Sunday looks better and I can manage to OOD.

I was up at the Club as Race Officer, The wind was force 5 gusting 6.
At 20 minutes to the start of the first race I decided, after consultation with those present, to postpone the Arthur Ingham Trophy to Sunday 20th September.
Sadly it has been a disappointing weekend, especially for Paul Gill, who is raring to go. His boat is now up at the Club, refurbished by some more wonderful Club members
