Weekend 7th/8th February

Unread post by Michael »

Hi. I've been offline for a couple of days, possible virus problem, hopefully back to normal now.

It was too cold for me this morning, and too early I suppose. Did anyone go on the water?

It doesn't look much warmer tomorrow so I don't know whether to bother or not. Roads are ok here but I don't suppose the country lane from Galgate will have been gritted. I've had fun down there in the past.

High Water is at 1005 hours, 9.1 metres. Sailing can start at 0900 hours. Wind northerly 6 to 10 mph, temperature 1 - 3 degrees C, cloudy - all at Blackpool Airport on GBwindmap.

0845 hours Sunday. Just watched a motor cruiser being launched by the JCB. I didn't recognise it. It set of towards the dock and has now just motored off towards the sea. The gate has been shut so perhaps it's not coming back? Decided not to go up because snow was forecast last night to start around midday. There's no wind showing on the wind gauge. Looks like I may have made the right decision?

I thought it was Tanis but I couldn't make it out for sure. Thanks for the info on the beautiful windless morning. I watched the cameras and didn't see any activity on the water. I'm sure this time last year, when the Dart trampoline was being repaired, and I couldn't sail, the weather was great.
It looks great this morning, 6 knots and fine.
