Steve Jones removed 'his', we thought he'd donated them to the club when he installed them, traffic lights, battery and hooter on Sunday morning.
Don't panic! We can still use Martin Topping's lights even though they are all the same white light, and Martin is going to get a hooter and battery, which the Club will pay for to establish ownership.
Alan Round, with David Booth's help is creating a facility with a camcorder (apologies if that's the wrong description) to run while a race is taking place, which will show the times on each frame so that we can work out each boat's time as it crosses the finish line. Used in conjunction with Martin's automatic starting lights we should be well placed to start serious racing again once the holiday period is over.

Lights
We used the white lights successfully on Sunday for the first race, no one had the right glasses on to set them for the second race, must leave my reading glasses in the OOD box in future.
There's a manual in the OOD Box which shows you how to set them before each race. Please feel free to go and practice setting them up any time. The key for the OOD Box is in the top cabinet on the left as you enter the changing room suite.
We need to agree that one boat will blow the hooter as the lights start their sequence. This should be easy to manage. Everyone will then be aware that the race is about to start.
