It is ok again .

The fault was the throttle position sensor and it has been reset by Barnfields with his computer.

Barnfields came again on Friday and again the computer reset cured it, but I don't think we should trust it near the water line on the slip in case we can't get it to reverse. The JCB and its torpedo are still working fine.
.
It seems to me (and others) that we have a dry joint or a loose connection in the drive electronic controls somewhere, and have possibly had it for years. The fault seems to be temporarily cured by jerking the machine, so software isn't necessarily the final cure.
.
The feeling is to wait till all the boats are laid up for winter and then find an electronics specialist to look through the various modules, cables and connectors till we have pinpointed it or we might be looking for a replacement machine. This would be a great shame as it is still mechanically in good condition, largely thanks to Stafford's efforts every two weeks. Needless to say, a replacemnt would cost a fortune and there are not many about with that capacity.

Man Cage

Well, it's been Ok for more than a week now, so can be used on the slip with caution.

It's possible that there may be a little back up battery in the ECU to store it's settings, time will tell when we investigate later.

The headstock with the fork is currently at Horn's for sandblasting and painting, so the man cage is out of use for a short while.

The front plate is back after treatment and the forks can be used again, so all's well.
