Any brew for the crew?

Revised Day Sailing Dates

The two remaining day sailing events are moving from Saturdays to Sundays which will hopefully make it easier for folks to attend.

They are now:

Sunday 11 July HW 12.56 ( this coming Sunday )

Sunday 25 July HW 12.56

A reminder that Regatta dates are 21 & 22 August.

Well, the post about Day Boat sailing said "10th July Viking Invasion", and above it says the events are moved from Saturday to Sunday.
If this is the usual GSC Viking Invasion which used to be a big event.....who knows about it? I for one didn't. Is it because Snatchems is shut that there hasn't been publicity nor much interest?

And, no Mick. There is no Brew for the Crew cos we couldn't have an indoor event, and daren't risk it outside. You can organise one for the weekend after 19th July if you wish, but "I'm out".

I think Owen just set the dates / details out back in April in the hope that a Viking Invasion somewhere might prove to be possible, Chris but, as you say, the Golden Ball at Snatchems is well and truly shut, and there's no alternative destination to sail to really, with the collection of boats and inflatables that made up the 'fleet' in the days of the 'old style' Viking Invasion.

I'm assuming that the hope is just a sort of sail in company for those that are about / want to get out on the water. The change from Saturday to Sunday was because a few of the more regular dayboat / dinghy sailors seem to make it to the Club more on Sundays than Saturdays, so it was just to try and see if the change helped boost the numbers.

Nice sail up river yesterday but a pint or two at Snatchems would have made the tacking on the way back less tedious!

Never mind Duncan - it seems the Ship on Piel has opened again. Steve back at the helm. Unless my Google sources are wrong, that is.
If anyone has first hand info, please post as a new topic.
