Please save us two tickets, as we can only collect on the day. Looking forward to seeing everyone then.
Thanks, Chris Booth

Countryfile on Piel
Did anyone else see last night's "Countryfile" on BBC1? It had quite a lot about the Furness area, including Barrow, Walney and Piel. They had Matt sailing on a prawner to arrive at Piel with a gift for the King (two hens for the menagerie). If interested, you could see it on the BBCiplayer...

Re: 50th GALA NIGHT
Yes, thank you Val and Doug sooo much. We realise that these things don't just happen without a lot of time and effort - many people don't work so hard as you did for the 50th Anniversary Celebrations in their (paid) day-job! We have long said that GSC members are a formidable force when they combin...

Drowning would you recognise it?
Please all have a look at this. It's fairly lengthy, but read on past when he saved the child while the parents were oblivious nearby.

There is a strange anomaly when using Chrome to access our club wespace, if you try to get on the member's area using the old url glassonsc.org.uk you will be denied access. So the remedy is to use the link below and delete any traces of your old ones: www.GlassonSailing.co.uk Soon the old one will ...

Re: Thanks to everyone involved
Yes, it was great. So many people enjoying themselves, and appreciating the new outside sitting area too. Actually, Val, the total is now £256! Because today (Sun) we had a donation from some people who came today (wrong day, but they said, "well, we would have spent that if we had come to the ...

Re: Tenacity of Bolton
Yes, it was good. Thanks Val for arranging this. If anyone else is interested in sailing "Tenacity", there is a poster on the notice board advertising delivery trips as well as "cruises". Colin (skipper) said that the delivery trips looked cheap (4 days for £100 I think it was), ...

Thank you so much Lorna and Andy for all the work in producing and distributing our Club magazine. Thanks too, to the contributors for such interesting and varied articles. GSC is certainly a force to be reckoned with in the skills and talent department (as well as in racing round the Isle of Mann)....

Re: Saturday 25 Feb - GSC Pool Tournament
Thanks Val and Dave for organising this. We had to leave early to do an airport pick up, but I did ring around 23.00 to hear who had won. Congratulations Jeff. I believe that Micheal G joined John B in potting the black. Is that right? Can someone do a quick explanation, and maybe some photos. There...

Of course - the more the merrier. Will need signing in in the usual way that's all.
I must say to anyone else who has read Val's post, that the games are not compulsory, though the food, friends and music are.

Re: Push the Boat out day
"Will we be doing it?" you say. Well, not all the social stuff, because we have a big "Do" only a month later for GSC's 50th Anniversary at Regatta weekend. Cruisers usually go away that weekend on their Summer Cruise in Company. That still leaves the dinghies, and people not inv...

Re: Glasson Artists
Right, that's it then - there is enough talent and interest to have an exhibition in the Spring, when, you have had the dark winter nights to work on your offerings. I propose that any which you artists put forward for sale (and not all of the exhibition would have to be for sale) could be sold on t...

A couple of people have asked that we display, at the Laying up Supper, some of the artwork which has been produced by sailing club members. It was suggested that we have a competition, but I have reservations about that..... art is very personal, and who are we to "judge"? Perhaps I am th...

Goodness, they are really pushing the boat out at Fleetwood - Lifeboat pull on 5th June, then this on 18th. And as per poster in GSC foyer, the RNLI North West has got a walk across Morecambe Bay on 25th June.

John, that sounds really good.... if only it were June, I'd be tempted. As it is, I will leave it to the more intrepid sailors. I had checked the programme, and there was nothing on at Easter, so I booked the Lifeboat talk, but within a few hours of putting up the poster in the Club, I was told abou...

Ps, I forgot to point out, to those unfamiliar with Liverpool, that the new museum (named Museum of Liverpool) is the long white cantilevered building in the background of Mike's photo.
