Re: Moving forward.

I have 2 moorings in the river and would be willing to loan them out until I get back to England! Inspect them first though and maintain as necessary. No responsibility accepted if your boat ends up in Lancaster!

Quiz night

Great quiz night last night. Thanks to quizmaster Jim Cruise for setting some curly questions. Name of Long John Silvers parrot? What instrument did Mick Fleetwood play? Etc. The hot mince pies went down a treat. Thanks to Chris Booth for the prizes all packaged festively!

Re: Battens found

Possibly mine, I took my battens out and rolled my main up there and now I can't recall if I picked up the battens. Defo took the sail back to the boat! Will check tomorrow.

Re: Moonrise over Foulney

Coming back from Piel we marked the buoyage in the channel using a handheld GPS12. Interesting results when compared with my 1992 chart. We didn't get right on top of the buoys but the results are accurate enough to enable the buoys to be seen. We did them all up to 14 with one notable exception whi...

Lovely spot David with lots of interesting craft on the river. This one and another very similar boat caught my eye. They appeared to be wooden carvel planked?

Re: Tide tables

A little more info. It is Thomsons tidal prediction machine from 1876. It's tempting to think that the world was invented last week but a visit to the science museum in London has put paid to that idea!

Tide tables

Why buy tide tables when you can hand crank this machine for just 4 hours and get tidal predictions for a whole year!
