Facebook

There have been some great photos on the clubs Facebook page in the last few days. Some today are of a Round the Island Race. I seem to remember an edition of Mainsheet with photos of GSC winning a team trophy. Does anyone remember the year or have I got the wrong race?

Hurley Owners Association

Don't know if this will be of any interest but on the HOA Facebook page there are two Hurleys free to collect. One is a long keel 22' and the other looks like a 20'. They are in the Liverpool area but neither has a trailer.

Re: Sad News

I didn't know Ian as long as most members but whenever I knew he was at the club I would seek him out to have a chat. One of the nicest people I have ever met. What a sad loss.

At last years regatta I just used a seperate stopwatch for anyone coming out of the dock and started them when they crossed the start line. I think it was only The Other Woman last year.

Re: Picture of Glasson pre club

What a gem. A few years ago Val arranged a guided tour by Dr White from the university. He spoke about a dry dock in the past. Is that a lock gate at the top left of the quay?

Mirror Mast

When I was at the club today I think I have left my wooden mirror mast on the ground between Dizzie & Jackdaw. If anyone at the club reads this could they please check & put it under Dizzie for me as I probably won't get down again for a couple of weekends. Many thanks.

Re: Spring Series Racing

When I tidied the OD Box a few weeks ago there was a blue ring binder file in the left hand drawer. This contained a lot of information and plans of the buoys with the exception of "f" which was only placed there about this time last year. It had the up-to-date PYs etc. Is there anything i...

Spring Series Racing

Thanks to Ivan and Big John the dinghy racing finally got underway over the Easter Weekend. The Spring Series continues on Saturday with the first race scheduled for 13.30 (HW 14.32 - 8.7m) and on Sunday with the first race at 14.15 (HW 15.11 - 8.3m). Unfortunately again I cannot get to the club due...

Easter Weekend Racing

The coming weekend is scheduled to be quite busy. The details are on the calendar with times etc, but please note that the Carlsberg Trophy has been put back until later in the year and these races are now part of the Spring Series. Unfortunately I am unable to attend any events this weekend due to ...

Racing Tomorrow

Sorry this post is so late. The forecast for tomorrow is F4 & F5, too windy for the dinghies, so it looks like we are still waiting to kickstart our season.

Dinghy Racing

Unfortunately we continue to be cursed by high winds at weekends. Saturday is predicting F5/6 Gusting F7 and Sunday is about the same. Therefore dinghy racing is postponed once again. Hope things improve soon. http://www.windfinder.com/forecast/morecambe_bay http://www.xcweather.co.uk/forecast/LA2_0DB

Re: Dinghy Racing

I think having a dinghy race on Saturday is a great idea. It can't be included in any Series but it would be a great shake down to dust off the cobwebs and get ready for the Spring Series. Anyone not wanting to race could perhaps refresh themselves on manning the Patrol Boat. Can anyone who would li...

Dinghy Racing

Until the work party on Saturday, I had not realised just how significant the damage was to our garage. I was also informed that the garage doors cannot be opened, which seeing the condition of the garage was not surprising and would be dangerous. However, this does mean that the Patrol Boat would n...
