Thank you

I know I've not been seen down at the club much recently- I usually pop in about once a month mid week so probably miss most folk but I made an effort to sail at the regatta. I didnt get to stay in the evenings but did manage to sail both days(just!) It was great to see so many people and guests aro...

What do they know...?

Today I forgot my password for the forum (away from my password list) and asked for a new one. Fine and dandy, it emailed me a new one, when I clicked on the link it popped up with - "www.glassonsailing.co.uk is not a trusted site"...............

membership renewal

Hi all- its that time of year again, only for me its slightly more complicated this year. Jamie has turned 18 and is no longer I assume, eligible for inclusion under the family membership. However he is still at school and not earning. I seem to remember from my time on the committee that there used...

Re: Lighthouse Bump

Its owned and maintained by the Lancaster Port Commission. The request for photos was to assist the claim being put together against the ships insurance- I suspect its going to cost rather a lot to repair -it so Helen is trying to get as much evidence as possible...... Many thanks to those of you th...

Re: Lighthouse Bump

Hello everyone
A long shot - Helen has asked me if any member has taken a recent photo of the light prior to the damage on March 5th- she is trying to sort the claim for the repairs.

New dinghy- finally!

Those that saw me over the summer may know that I have been trying to find a dinghy for Jamie and his mate Johnathan (brother of Seb for those with long memories). After a couple of weeks repairing, sanding and varnishing we launched it for the first time at Coniston yesterday. It still needs some t...

Re: 2013 GSC REGATTA 24/25/26 August

As previous posts said a great regatta, many thanks to everyone who put their bit in!
One of the best I've been too, helped by the weather of course.
How about a dinghy treasure hunt/ orienteering event as the fun day?

Re: Flagging an issue for improvement.

During the regatta a few people have talked to me about this and pointed out that it is really easy to launch using the big machines. My reply was the same ' and if no drivers are around? '. The boat should be easily launched by anyone using the simplist gear ie a small car, in my humble opinion.

Flagging an issue for improvement.

Today I was really proud to be a member of this club, the first day of the regatta promised and delivered all the drama that good sailing can offer; the efforts made to make the club look nice, the dancing efficient super machines launching the big boats, the dinghies whizzing around, not least the ...
