Re: Live Aboard Uk

Thanks for Looking David. Some of it is obvious like you say. There are lots of dream videos on you tube too, but most in a foreign land. What I am after is the realities . Like having no home address as such. Do marinas allow life aboard. Car you park up a motor home up while cruising the sail boat...

Our plan is to sail hound Dog as much as we can, then sell Hound Dog in the meantime, sell up at retirement and then buy another yacht around 38ft plus to live on it for a 5 years plus. Obviously who knows what's around th...

Hound Dog For Sale

Following consultation with the GSC Committee. Due to various reasons mainly lack of time because of work shifts etc, Hound Dog is for sale and we are looking to go back to a trailer sailer, so we have more flexibility to sail again. She is a Seadog 30ft Ketch. Check out owners association for histo...

Please offer our condolences to Justin and family.

Re: Next Years Summer Cruise

Thanks as always David

We will try for Spring Bank and see if our employers will be flexible etc.

June would be great for us as our children have grown up but would totally understand the club opting for school hols etc having been there not so long ago.

Next Years Summer Cruise

Hello

Is it possible to let us know the probable dates for the summer cruise 2011, we need to book out annualised leave in the next 2 weeks or so. We wish to join you for a week next year possibly longer. Even a best guess will do.

Many Thanks

Hound Dog-Where have we been? Are you sailing in September?

Just an update as we are missing you all and our Hound Dog. We are still around but are finding it extremely difficult to manage getting across with Debbie's new role as a nurse, shift working with many weekends included, as she is new to role and needs to make a positive impression ete etc etc. Wha...

Re: Hound Dog Adventures

You can no longer walk over the Lock gates. So you have to walk down the far side of the marina, cross a bridge and then walk back down the otherside of marina on the board walks before entering the freeport centre at the cafe end, then walk through the centre before walking back on yourself to Flee...

Hi All Hound Dog is safely tucked in Fleetwood Marina, we are going shopping tomorrow, Friday is to be very rough. We are to leave Fleetwood Saturday. It was a bit rough yesterday we got pooped from the side, never experienced that, we reckoned force 7 possibly more when the rain came in. James, our...

Re: Vikings 2009

I had an excellent day out and my Friend was well looked after on the rescue boat. What a great friendly club. Was anybody offended by the jetskier, that will be a resounding show of hands, well done GSC members and great to see the majority win for a change, he was a big guy or should I say bully. ...

Re: New traffic seperation scheme

This is very interesting information and thanks for the head up advice. I have a silly question as I have not come accross the "Fines" anywhere in my training and learning so far, so can you be fined at sea and by who? My understanding was the insurance people would decide who was wrong ba...

Ulverston

One for debate. I fancy having a go at mooring at Canal Foot Ulverston. Any thoughts. It would be a three Possible two night trip by my reckoningif light/tide are on our side . GSC to Piel to Ulverston to Piel and return to maximise the tide heights for Hound Dog. From pictures it looks like you can...

Re: Trip To Whitehaven

The weathers looking great and now another worry. I was under the impression you could launch at high tide on all tides with enough water over the concrete. Obviously I need to be concerned and another learning lesson on my very steep learning curve. I will have to evaluate on the day, but on Sunday...

The ICC I have decided to complete my Day Skipper practical instead as I do not have too many sailing days this year with Debbie and I did not want to miss my opportunity to have a weeks sailing (probably the only one this year due to Canoe Club commitments), so have disc...
