No. 018– 2023 Dock Gate Repairs/Dock closure

The Port of Lancaster Dock gate will be raised using a temporary winch system, The dock gate will be raised on Mon 25th September or soon after, The dock gate will remain closed until the large Spring tide period is finished in early October.

Every significant Spring tide over the next few weeks, the dock gate will close over the potential flood risk period and will be opened again after the potential flood risk has gone. (Glasson Dock will be closed during these times)

The Dock gate ram is currently undergoing repairs/refurbishment (Approx. timescale to complete repairs 8-10 weeks)

Updates will be provided on the Ports Facebook page /web site and LNtM.

We are liaising with the Environment Agency, as the dock gate forms part of the flood defences for the area. The Environment Agency will decide on the best way to manage flood risk while the repairs are ongoing. This may involve using temporary flood defences if required. For any issue relating to flood risk please email Inforequests.cmblnc@environment-agency.gov.uk

LNtM No 016 of 2023 is now cancelled
