NOTICE TO MARINERS
NO. 008 – 2017
GLASSON DOCK
WALNEY ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE
LATITUDE 54° 02.920’N LONGITUDE 003° 10.630’W
Work is due to commence on Tuesday 18 April 2017 on the installation of a new
light at Walney Island Lighthouse. Consent has been obtained from the
Corporation of Trinity House under section 199(2) of the Merchant Shipping Act,
1995 to alter the light from a rotational beacon to a flashing light with the
characteristics Fl W 1.0s ev. 15s and to reduce the range from 23 NM to 20
NM. The changeover is scheduled for Wednesday 19 April 2017.
A further Notice to Mariners will be issued to confirm the changeover.
