GSC Covid-19 Update

Unread post by Roger »

Good-day All,
Your Committee met last night (via Zoom!) and discussed the Covid-19 situation. In summary:

It was felt that overall the membership's response and compliance to our restrictions and safety measures had been good. Based upon this and the continued national reduction in incidents of Covid spread and deaths, we would review the GSC restrictions. After some discussion it was agreed.
- We would not alter the number of drivers allowed for the telehandlers at this time but keep this under review based upon demand for this service.
- We would allow access to other club equipment (quad bike, strimmer and welder) and garages. Such access would require the same level of health and safety care against possible transmission of Covid as per the telehandlers, ie hand washing before use of any equipment, disinfecting of common touch points on equipment used and disinfecting of all common touch points after use.
- We would still restrict access to Clubhouse areas to the toilets only.
- We would ask members to supply their own sanitisation products. No sanitisation kit would mean no access to club equipment.
We agreed we would review these restrictions again on the 6th July or beforehand if the Government significantly changed their guidance/instructions. The consensus was that members should take responsibility for their own health and safety on this issue and our duty was to provide services which reflected government instruction. It was felt that we were not there to police these government rules but would be disappointed in members who flaunted these and would intervene if we felt their actions endangered others.

Thanks to everyone who is following the intent of the restrictions. Fingers crossed they can be relaxed further in the near future.
Regards to all - look after yourselves.

Roger

Hi, to be clear, by posting the above Roger means:

Its Ok to use everything apart from the galley and lounge until further notice as long as social distancing and cleanliness is observed. ( Don't know how you'll get 2 on the patrol boat unless from the same family).

cheers, David
