Moonrise over Foulney

Unread post by onewaygeorge »

Would one of the people who were outside the Ship on Friday night kindly publish a picture of that lovely moonrise.

I wasn't literally outside but it was certainly an impressive orange colour. There were fireworks at Blackpool as well _ all 4 free!

Coming back from Piel we marked the buoyage in the channel using a handheld GPS12. Interesting results when compared with my 1992 chart. We didn't get right on top of the buoys but the results are accurate enough to enable the buoys to be seen. We did them all up to 14 with one notable exception which was No6 red. The gap between 5 green and 6 red is enormous! Does anyone know if when coming in, the channel is close to 5 green then up to 6 red then back to the lighthouse? we usually ignore 6 red and just scoot between the 5 and 6

You'd be unlucky to run aground in our boats, more or less east west. Me and Dave came up yesterday and got to Sunderland point exactly 3hrs AFTER HW.

Ah, but your boats have the same draught as a disposable bbq!
