LANCASTER PORT COMMISSION
NOTICE TO MARINERS
INFORMATION
SENT ON BEHALF OF MCA
I’m not sure if you are aware but there was an oil spill from the ENI operated OSI (Liverpool
Bay) last week.  Initial estimations of the release have varied however there was a report
received yesterday of tar balls being sighted from Bispham to Cleveleys.  There has since
been a second report of tar balls appearing at the slipway at Knott End.  It has not been
confirmed, at this time, if this oil has come from the OSI.
If you should sight any oil on the beach and / or any of your vessel’s report sighting anything
at sea, please could you call CGOC Holyhead in the first instance so they can collate any
reports – Tel 01407 762051.
If you would like any more information, then please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Kind Regards,
Lisa McAuliffe
Counter Pollution & Salvage Officer (Wales and West & SCOTNI)
