For info. Bought the Energiser UE10007 (10000ma) last week. Charged the tablet to full from empty, then left it for a week. Ran the tablet down and connected the remaining charge in the pack and it charged it to full again plus an extra 15% into the phone before it was flat. So excellent.
OK it cost £22, but if you use a tablet for a plotter it would see you finish the trip

Something else you could do to extend battery life is to use an external bluetooth GPS and connect to that via bluetooth as phone or tablet GPS uses a lot of power.
