Re: Tempted ?

Mick,
That's a proposal worth discussing. Can you send it to the Committee members so that we can do so tonight.

The club is still awaiting a 'Covid-19' team leader who will also address and document all the points raised by the RYA Club Guidance Document.

Regards

Re: Club equipment.

Slippers (Dave), Thanks for the encouragement to get moving on relaxing access to GSC and it's facilities and equipment. We don't really need it ! The Committee will take a considerate, common sense and conservative approach to returning to whatever new reality awaits us whilst adhering to the gover...

Re: Tempted ?

Kainoa, Can you identify yourself please. You sound like just the sort of chap to head the club's Corvid-19 Working Group to lead us out of the Club's current Considerate and Conservative approach to keeping all GSC Club members safe and free of sickness. If you want to read around the subject and g...

Covid-19 and Impact on GSC

Hi All, I don't really want to take a 'high and mighty' position with respect to dictating what is acceptable at the club at this time. The club doesn't and shouldn't work like that. Since my post on 19th March much has happened and many people have died. I guess we're halfway through the first wave...

Hi All,
Yes Kevin and Justin have been giving it the once over most days. John Holt cut the grass last week having cycled there for his exercise allowance.

Gilly and Jackie have done the cleaning call.

Re: Corona Virus Precautions

George. Quite! Seems the advice / diktat is aimed at city dwellers. Not that it's worked if the tube pictures are anything to go by! They'll be sorree.

Enjoy the sun.

Re: corona virus precautions

Hi George, 1. If you leave the kitchen / club house sparkling and dripping with disinfectant then you shouldn't increase the risk to club members unduly (quite a few of whom will be getting letters this week!!). It's not up to the committee to police. I'm with Mick in thinking that Boris will do tha...

Re: Cruising

Hi Mick, The club and boat park will not be 'off limits'. Just maintain 'social isolation' by staying at least 2m from others and watch the personal hygiene. Be wary of the 'touch points'. Don't congregate. I guess we'll follow the diktat that the bar will close from tonight. Until government rules ...

Re: Cruising

Hi Jim, Very much so ! The more the merrier and a club cruise helps drag the more cautious club members out to new destinations. I should have some more free time from mid year, so apart from a trip round Ireland on Ocean Phoenix starting 27 June (all boats welcome !) I'll be available to join in. B...

Snatches

Rumour has it that there was a newsworthy incident last week-end. No photos posted yet unfortunately. Something to do with the water departing whilst members were warming and refreshing themselves by the fire. No names but their combined sailing experience make a respectable darts score.

Mick,
I reckon you''ll be related to one John Bull circa 1850, wearer of natty colourful waistcoats. Had a bull dog as a side kick.
Happy New Year everybody !

Re: Ladies' Evening (aka Wine Tasting)

Well done all. I'm a bit envious although I did enjoy a glass of 'Chateuneuf de Pap' this week at a BBQ. The label on the back crowed about how it had been matured for weeks and the aftertaste left a hint of strawberry jam...
