Garlieston harbour just up from isle of whithorn looks an interesting spot. Very sheltered,drying but with the possibility of remaining afloat against the wall.

Just a thought,If you have the day skipper qualification you can have the icc without doing the course, just a fee required. I got mine that way and had the cevni endorsement as well by doing the test online

David, Road planings do not pack down very well and environmentally they are questionable. I think a better solution for the surface of the boat park is crushed brick/building rubble and then a coat of fines which can either be sandstone or limestone it results in a hard and even surface.
