AGM 25 OCTOBER

Tony has asked me to send out by email to all members for whom we hold an email address his official notice of this year's Agm.

I shall do that just as soon as I have a normal Internet connection.

Cheers David

Re: Regatta

Well, the tide will be organised anyway, so go for it Mick.... and no stopping off en route.
Our two little rascals are to blame for us not being there. We booked a really family friendly festival which they go to every year. Pity about the date, cos our Leisure 17 is ready to go.

Wow, John. Where exactly is this gorgeous looking place that you are showing us on the GSC cameras? Golden sand, blue sky, green grass... all true colours except probably the golden sand!
Whatever you've done, it's brill, thanks.

Re: Sat 5 July - Brew for the Crew in aid of RNLI

Thanks George. So it must be me! Cos if you scale it down, the only difference is that I put some of my egg into the mix, and used the rest as a glaze. I've done it both ways (ie with egg in the mix, or just milk to mix), and they still don't look like your picture - which is what I'm aiming for). Cx...

Thanks Alison. Also thanks Ann for offering Victoria sandwich and "something chocolatey", Linda was experimenting with "something orangey/marshmallowy", and I'll also do a chocolate cake. I wonder if Jeff's harem have deserted him now he has retired. Wish I could make nice scones...

Hi Derek, Glad you will be joining us next time. In the meantime, what about a week on Sat (5th July) Brew for the Crew in aid of lifeboats. You don't even need to dress up - we do. Some of us women that is, dress up as waitresses and serve home made cakes and tea to paying GSC members, guests and l...

Whaaat? I don't believe it. Sorry I don't know who you are Derek - but I do know that if any of us had known that you had a problem, whoever you were, we would have helped. I take it that you did get to the shore by rowing? I don't suppose that the prop would be found even at low water, even if you ...

Re: GSC Social - Sat 8th February

What a lovely evening. Thanks Val for arranging it. As well as the music, the local interest was.... well, "interesting". There were lots of new faces in the audience - I hope the blustery conditions don't put them off coming to GSC again. The Club though, was very snug and warm inside, wi...

I hope I'm not out of turn Val, saying this. I don't know if everyone remembers, but Val needs to stay home and comfort dogs when fireworks are going off. So, in terms of organising Bonfire night, it will be everyone mucking in. David and Val publicize the event JH has in the past obtained fireworks...

Re: Pictures of our Scottish cruise

Love the pics. Are you bringing them to the film show on Regatta weekend? And it would also be good to see that one of Brian singing in the pub (last yr?), and better still if he brought his music for a live session. In Oneiro (our first boat, so we were novices) we "anchored" in that plac...

We got here 11am. Still no snow. The Clubhouse was sooo welcoming. Mount Vesuvius was churning out heat, and everywhere looked clean and tidy. Just washed my hands in hot water in the "Ladies" too. We are spoilt.

Glad you enjoyed it. Re: Sat 3 November - Fireworks Display & Jacob's Join Supper

Regarding food on Bonfire night - I will bring some sausage rolls . As you say Val, we usually get a good variety, leaning towards "comfort food" such as soup, hotpot, pork pies, and parkin, to reflect the weather conditions. Just a little request though..... we are short of oven shelves. S...
