Piel trip this week-end ?

Forecast is still a bit blowy, but seems to be moderating.

Sea Fox is still interested.

GSC Racing Mark

A bloke rang the club ( on the new number) this afternoon to advise that he'd found a large buoy with 'GSC Racing Mark' on lt on the shoreline near Hest Bank ...... and did we want it back? I went and picked it up to find it was a Hippo mooring type buoy. Peter , anybody know how long it''s been tra...

Haverigg Trip 15 to 18 June

Dates for the diary. Via Piel for Friday night. Onward to Haverigg on Saturday. Back to Piel for Sunday night and home on Monday. Tides are high, good weather is a must.
Sea Fox, Rice Pudding, CLAUDIA, and maybe Serendipity are up for it.
Others welcome. NB you will dry out.

Piel trip this week-end ?

For those who can't make it to the IoM this year.... a gentle sail to Piel on Saturday, back Sunday. Sunday HW is 8.2m at 14.50 which may be too shallow for some....
Sea Fox is going.

Re: Merlo has puncture

Er nope. They are both 'condemned' and will be taken away when the replacements are obtained.
Or you can store them on your farm if you want with the 22 others on site ?

Re: Merlo has puncture

It''s fixed. Serendipity recovered by the Merlo this pm.

The bad news is that we're advised to get 2 new tyres to avoid the hazard of 'toppling over' if 1 went. Costs TBC but circa £600. We'll go ahead with this. Can't do otherwise.

Merlo has puncture

Gilly has called a fixer. We don't know yet if a new tyre is required or just an inner tube, but it will be sorted asap at whatever cost. There was a sharp piece of metal found on the slipway and I found about 6 nails / screws on a quick walkaround after assisting with with the boat recovery yesterd...

Not happy

Dear All, The downside of the work party was that we collected all of the redundant tyres on site. The club is faced with the hassle and expense of disposing of these in an environmentally responsible way. Recognising that these are mainly of a historic nature, can I ask that if you bring new tyres ...

Royal Wedding Trip - Piel 19th May

Dear All, An opprtunity is offered to miss the wall to wall coverage of the joyous event. Several boats departing Glasson around 14.00 Saturday for Piel, so, for the Royalists, you could do both. Ground rules apply. Any mention of the nuptials will incur a round of drinks at the Ship with a toast to...

Re: Work Party

Big thank you for all the effort put in today to progress the jobs on site. Around 25 members shifted ballast, strimmed, collected rubbish, gathered wheels + tyres, repaired the garage roof fettled the machinery and progressed the fitting out of the workshop. A tasty lunch + brews were provided by t...

Boat Insurance

Dear All, I've just renewed my boat insurance with 'Towergate' quoting the code GLSC and was pleasantly suprised to save 30% from last year's, even though it ends up with same underwriter! It's an absolute no brainer especially because the club gets a percentage back. Highly recommended. Leaflets ar...

Piel Trip this week-end ?

Dare I say it ? The weather looks good for a trip to Piel this week-end. A bank holiday... I've got to dress Sea Fox but could get away Friday 14:36 if I get organised.

Anybody else interested ?
