We have also seen it and thought it was very good. Tom Hanks was a good actor to play the part and was made up to look very much like the real pilot.

A picture of the container today Plover scar light is just off pic to the left, with port buoy No 8 is in the foreground, it looks like the container may have moved further over to the Sunderland point side. http://imageshack.com/a/img923/989/7mv5Oq.jpg Facing East this pic was taken immediately aft...

Hi Val
Nice find that is very interesting. They do make it look a lot higher than it really is though when filming her climbing up the ladder.

Hi Mick sounds like you had a good sail. We are still in Ramsey waiting for a forecast without strong wind warnings, looks like it may be Sat before that happens.

Re: Freelancer update.

Hi Brian
Went to Whitehaven with Rice pudding and Merlin, but due to engine and water stay problems Norman and crew left early for home. We met The other woman there as well. We went with Merlin to Kirkcudbright and stayed 3 nights then moved on to Ramsey. Took a bus to Piel trad boat festival today.

Re: Piel Trip this week-end 7/8 May

Hi Brian Not sure but I don't think big tides help as you end up higher up the slip where it is not as steep and the JCB only has a relatively short reach. The torpedo on the JCB may do it though.
I am planning being at the club over the weekend.

The JCB isolator key is kept in the club safe at the moment and was there last Saturday.

Re: Social Get Together - Sat 30th April - Calling New Members

We had a good very turnout for the work party especially considering the weather, we got the remainder of the Sea wall raked out and pointed under the club house, the club house windows cleaned, Pete Hoskins bench repaired, some strimming done and a few other things as well I am sure. A pie & pe...

Heysham 2 trip

Very interesting tour today and well worth doing if you haven't been before, unfortunately two of our people could not do the tour as there had been a glitch with the booking at Heysham's end and security decided not to allow them in even though it was their mistake. Thanks to Dave and Chris for org...
