Oh dear. How frustrating (and too cold to be hanging about). As far as I know, it's still the old code till end of Feb. Last time I went I'd taken both codes, just in case, but the usual one worked! I don't know why it didn't work for you. Was it anything to do with the twist of the handle do you th...

Portpatrick

Who has walked up the coast northwards from Portpatrick, and admired the house hidden into the hillside, on the coast opposite the golf course? If you want to see how it was built, and have a look inside and round onto the front of the house (which you can't see from the path) then watch Grand Desig...

Re: Thank you

Alison I'm so glad you did that post. I would have done it myself had we not been travelling all day.
It was a lovely weekend, with so many people about and everybody enjoying being back at the Club. Thanks to all the people who helped to organise this.

Never mind Duncan - it seems the Ship on Piel has opened again. Steve back at the helm. Unless my Google sources are wrong, that is.
If anyone has first hand info, please post as a new topic.

Re: Day Boat Sailing Dates

Well, the post about Day Boat sailing said "10th July Viking Invasion", and above it says the events are moved from Saturday to Sunday. If this is the usual GSC Viking Invasion which used to be a big event.....who knows about it? I for one didn't. Is it because Snatchems is shut that there...

Love your posts. Thanks for allowing us to sail vicariously! As Ann Johnson said when traveling on our narrowboat "Isn't it great when you don't have to worry about tomorrow's weather forecast".
I hope that the weather is kind to you, and you get to visit al the places on your wish-list.

Wow, Einar, what a good read. I wasn't expecting much, seeing as nothing much has happened. But I couldn't put the new Mainsheet down till I had finished it. Well, that's not entirely true.... I didn't continue with the search for the NW Passage  . But I might finally be able to remember which...

Brilliant quiz, Mick. Thanks very much. And the chat after was on a refreshing variety of things.... I mean, you do get fed up of Covid, Covid after 8 months. She wasn't happy for long. I hadn't taken any Stugeron, because the weather was calmer, but concentrating on a small patch close up (same as reading which I can't do on a voyage) made me icky.

Yes, it is a repeat of course, but great to see familiar places on screen. It did just rub it in though what a great loss the closure of the pub at Piel will be. Women's football tonight , but they are back on Thursday travelling Northwards.

Thanks for sharing your voyage with us. We have still not even managed to get to Piel this year. Trying again next weekend ,(3rd time lucky?).
Getting both high enough tide to launch, and wind not too strong for us softies is almost is an impossibility.
